These organisations provide specialist advice, guidance, networks and professional development in music.

The UK Association for Music Education – Music Mark is the new charitable, independent organisation (built on the foundations of the Federation of Music Services and the National Association of Music Educators) which represents and supports 99% of all Music Services and over 12,000 instrumental and classroom music teachers, music tutors, assistants plus consultants, advisers, inspectors and lecturers in Initial Teacher Education. 

The Incorporated Society of Musicans (ISM) is the UK’s professional body for musicians. The ISM champions the importance of music and protects the rights of those working within music through a range of services, campaigns, support and advice.

The MMA is the national association for Music Teaching Professionals. It exists to serve its members and support them as they deliver first-class music education that continues traditional values whilst embracing new technologies. Members of the MMA are connected to a network of like-minded professionals who are passionate about music and its potential to enrich the lives of young people.

The Youth Music Network is a new online community connecting people interested in music making with children and young people. Free to join, the Youth Music Network is a space to share knowledge, collaborate and access Youth Music funding.

The Schools Music Association is recognised as a national voice for music in education. They provide an essential network for music teachers, which serves as a vital link between those working with young people and the policy makers at local, regional and national level. They contribute to continuing professional development, have an established regional network, organise national conferences and local workshops, and organise musical events for children and young people.
