West Midlands

The following organisations work in the West Midlands and provide networks, advice and training for those working in cultural learning.

Arts in Warwickshire Education is a Warwickshire County Council team promoting innovative educational partnerships between artists, arts organisations, schools and their communities. They aim to ensure that all Warwickshire children and young people involved benefit from creative engagement of the highest quality.

Black Country Creative Partnerships
is managed by the Black Country Children's Services Improvement Partnership (BCCSIP). They work with schools from the four Black Country Local Authorities: Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley, as well as Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire.

Bright Space aims to improve the life chances of children and young people through the development of their creative skills and their engagement in arts and cultural activities. They are particularly interested in developing creative citizens who have the ability to imagine the world differently, and the skills and confidence to realise their aspirations. One of their current core activities is delivering the Creative Partnerships programme in Birmingham, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Cre8us works in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire. Their three main aims are: to work in partnership with Local Authorities to support creative organisational change and development in education, learning and cultural settings; to provide quality-assured professional development opportunities for those working with young people; and to work with a range of partners to ensure that young people are prepared for and have available high-quality employment opportunities, particularly in the creative and cultural sectors. They deliver Creative Partnerships in their local area.

Education Arts Service West Midlands
is an online resource for education and arts practitioners in the West Midlands region, facilitating wider participation in arts and culture, both in and out of school. They offer a searchable directory of artists and organisations, guidance, news and opportunities, and offer teachers, educators, youth workers, arts practitioners and creative industry professionals the tools to develop projects and collaborate. Professional development opportunities are listed in the events section (make sure you click on the West Midlands region on the home page).

Partners in Creative Learning create a space for collaborative process for provoking creative thinking. They deliver creative learning initiatives in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and the West Midlands, including the Creative Partnerships programme. PICL facilitates and develops creative work with children and young people through project management, consultancy and advisory services, and development via research, professional development and training, and fundraising.
